Our story
Two sisters, one terrace and a very long lunch
Marenna began in 2011 as a six-room guesthouse that sisters Eleni and Maria opened in their grandmother’s house. Guests arrived for a week and stayed for the sunsets, and the sisters never quite got around to closing the kitchen.
Today we are 28 rooms and villas, a cliffside restaurant, a spa carved into the rock and a team of sixty, most of them born within an hour of the hotel. The scale has changed. The welcome has not.

MARENNA IN NUMBERS
A small house with deep roots
Since 2011 we have welcomed guests the way our family always has: slowly, warmly and with the sea in view.

What we believe
A slower, kinder way to stay
Three promises we make to every guest, and keep long after check-out.
01
Slow by design
No rushed check-outs or packed schedules. Breakfast runs until noon and the sea is always a few steps away.
02
Rooted in the island
We cook with produce from neighbouring farms, build with local stone and timber, and hire from the villages around us.
03
Hospitality as craft
The small things are the whole job: a remembered name, a chilled glass at sunset, a quiet word about the best table before you ask.

The house
Stone, lime and light
Cool stone floors, hand-plastered walls and terraces that face the caldera. Every corner is designed to slow your pulse and sharpen your appetite.
Rooms with a view
Every room and villa opens onto the water or the sunset.
Quiet by default
No loudspeakers on the pool deck and no music after ten.
Built to last
Local stone, timber and lime, repaired by hand rather than replaced.

The people
The faces behind Marenna
A small team that treats every guest like a neighbour who has stopped by for supper.

Eleni Katsaros
Co-founder & host
Greets arrivals on the terrace and still checks the breakfast table every morning.

Maria Katsaros
Co-founder & design
Chooses the linens, the lamps and the lime colours, and has opinions about every cushion.

Nikos Pappas
Head chef
Cooks over olive wood with fish from the morning boats and herbs from the hillside.
